Watch a short walkthrough of the mind map

Reflection

Objective

The objective of this assignment was to design a mind map that showcases the major learning theories covered in the course and how they connect with each other.

Reflection

I am a highly visual learner. I always tend to find visual methods to organize knowledge. It helps me not only reinforce understanding, but also draw clearer and stronger connections between concepts and themes. Designing this mind map was a blast because it allowed me to do just that. I gained a deeper understanding of different learning theories and the literature that discusses them, and I was able to discover how they can be linked to each other and how they affect the construction of knowledge in online environments. Gaining knowledge about the different learning theories and their applications enables me to understand that diverse audiences and varied contexts require different learning methods and strategies. Learning design is not a one-size-fits-all, and the multiple different ways people learn prove just that. On the professional level, I aim to put my knowledge of learning theories into practice through the design of meaningful, engaging, and effective learning experiences.

Goal Alignment
This artifact aligns with Goal 1 since it helped me strengthen my theoretical foundation, expand my content knowledge even further, and examine academic literature about the application of learning theories in online environments in more depth, and express it in a creative visual method.

Metaphor Alignment

This artifact fits within my metaphor since the ability to visualize and organize information is  essential to creating a clear and focused outline for any story. This ability makes it possible to have a clear roadmap or guide that shows how the different parts of a story are connected to each other and where they eventually lead and how they affect the final outcome of the story.
